Education opens doors & changes lives Discover the world & the people that live on it Do what’s important now & remember the future Simplify life: reduce the clutter around me & in my mind

  3. Growing Up • Graduated from Montague High School in 1991. • Graduated 93rd in my class …………. out of 93 students. • Working at local farms and other things were my priority. • Was positively influenced by Mr. Tate (our Mr. Tate’s Dad) which is why I became a teacher. • Worked on a dairy farm growing up, milking cows and driving tractors. • Joined the Army after high school. • My options were pretty limited.

  4. My job in the Army • MLRS, Multiple Launch Rocket System. • Stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina. • I did training in Oklahoma, New York and Georgia.

  5. College • Went to college at • Muskegon Community College. • Grand Valley State University (bachelors in Social Studies). • Western Michigan (masters in Educational Leadership) • Currently studying at WMU (bachelors in Family Studies). • A’s and B’s in college. • Why not a’s and b’s in high school. • I had a lot to make up due to my high school experience (making up classes in college equals paying more money).

  6. Personal Life • I have been married for 12 years to my wife (she graduated from Oakridge in 1990). • 3 dogs, Maggi and Molly and Jo. • Enjoy reading, Formula One racing, Soccer, playing guitar a bit, Golf, Cooking and Exercising. • I have 3 older brothers and 1 younger sister. • Hosted 4 Exchange Students • Thailand, Germany, Finland, Pakistan. • I love to travel. • We have been to Thailand, Germany, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the Bahamas the Canadian Rockies and all over the United States.
