  1. Danny the Duck’s Adventure By: Annie Leonard and Hailey Badgley

  2. There once was a duck named Danny. He lived in an aquatic ecosystem. An ecosystem is all the livingand nonliving things in an environment. He lived with his family and friends Freddy the Fish and Toddthe Turtle in a small pond.

  3. One dark night Danny wandered from his pond alone thinking he would find his way home later. Danny was not allowed to wander off from his pond without his parents. He later began to feel lonely and scared. He wished he had never left his home. Before long he was lost in a large jungle with animals and trees everywhere.

  4. Danny the Duck was so scared. “Where am I” He asked a monkey near him. The monkey looked at Danny and answered “Well you’re in the tropical rain forest”“Really” Danny said out loud. “What’s your name”? Danny asked. “My name is Manny the monkey, what’s your name”? The monkey answered. “My name is Danny; Danny the Duck”. He answered “So what is like here, Manny”? Manny the Monkey thought about this for a second. “Well, for starters, our climate is very warm or hot” Manny said. Danny the duck did not know what climate was, but soon found out that it was the weather of an area over a long time.

  5. When Danny the duck turned around, it was hard to see because of all the low clouds called fog. A few minutes later Manny the monkey yelled, “Oh no, here comes Chester the cheetah”. All the animals climbed higher into the trees.

  6. As Chester the Cheetah got closer Danny became a easy prey. Danny the duck would easily be hunted by the cheetah if he didn’t move quickly. Danny quickly started to move up the tree by moving from one branch to the other. Just as Danny got to the top of the tree Chester was at the bottom ready for a snack. Danny was not scared anymore he was safe from his strong predator, Who was going to hunt him.

  7. Danny the duck felt a water droplet land on his beak. Manny the monkey said this was precipitation. Danny the duck asked Manny what precipitation was. “Precipitation is rain, snow, sleet, or hail, but we mostly have rain here. The good thing about it is, it scared away Chester the Cheetah”, answered Manny. “Oh, well I better start trying to find my way home”, said Danny the duck. “ Well this is our biome rainy and humid. There is always water vapor in the air even though you cant always see it". Said Manny. Danny the Duck started his journey home not knowing were to go. He soon saw a little pond with his family and friends. He shared his adventure with everyone at the pond and they lived happily ever after.
