  1. 3rd Conditional The Warehouse Madrid Upper Intermediate Group

  2. Exercise #8 • It might have been better if I had taken the bus to Juliet’s party last night. • If Mark had told me she was going, I could have asked her for a lift. • I wouldn’t have parked in the street if I had known there were car thieves in the area. • If I hadn’t left my car unlocked, the thieves might not have stolen it.

  3. Exercise #8 • If Mary hadn’t given me a lift home, I don’t know where I would have stayed. • My parents would have been worried if I hadn’t come home last night.

  4. Exercise #9 • They had stolen 8 dollars. • They got lost because they weren’t from that town. • They ended up at the gas station because they didn’t have a map and wanted to ask for directions. • They went there to get directions. • I think the robbers were arrested.

  5. Exercise #9 • If the men had had a map, they wouldn’t have gotten lost. • If the men had robbed in a town they knew, they wouldn’t have gone to the gas station they robbed. • If they had been smarter, they wouldn’t have robbed that gas station in the first place, because everyone knows that the cash register doesn’t keep substantial amounts of money. • If they hadn’t stopped for directions, they might not have been arrested.
