  3. First,“His Kingdom” is different from this world’s – John 18:36.... “My Kingdom is not of this world...”(NIV) James 4:4 1 John 2:15-17

  4. Second,the contrast between Citizens of the 2 kingdoms. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Galatians 5:19-25 Romans 14:17

  5. Third,Christ invites us to be a part of His Kingdom. Luke 22:29 John 3:3 Colossians 1:13

  6. MAIN POINTS As CITIZENS OF THE KINGDOM there are a number of things we willfully do….

  7. 1. Kingdom Citizens "REPENT"

  8. REPENT to think and act differently, thus, a “CHANGE” take place in our life. Matthew 4:17

  9. REPENT Greek“metanoeo” “to change one’s mind or purpose.” You CHANGE the way you.... • Think • Behave • Live • Act Ephesians 4:22-24 Matthew 21:31,32

  10. 2. Kingdom Citizens "SUBMIT TO HIS LORDSHIP"

  11. James 4:10.... “When you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependence on him, he will lift you up and give you honor.” (NLT)

  12. Hebrews 12:9.... “Since we respect our earthly fathers who disciplined us, should we not all the more cheerfully submit to the discipline of our heavenly Father and live forever.” (NLT)

  13. 3. Kingdom Citizens "OBEY GOD"

  14. Mark 12:29-34 John 14:15.... “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” (NIV)

  15. Ephesians 5:19.... “Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (NIV)

  16. The CITIZENS OF THE KINGDOM are serious about OBEYING God. They live it out!

  17. Luke 9:23-25.... “(v.23) Then he said to them all: ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

  19. 4. Kingdom Citizens "LOVE & SERVE OTHERS"

  20. CITIZENS OF THE KINGDOM …. learn to LOVE and SERVEothers, even the least desirable. Matthew 25:34-40

  21. Matthew 20:25-28.... “The least will be the greatest, and we must serve each other.” (NIV; cf. Luke 7:28)

  22. They are not concern about self, but about those who are in need and are unloved. Willing to serve others!

  23. 5. Kingdom Citizens "SEEK FIRST GOD'S KINGDOM"

  25. A) Kingdom Citizens Desire His Kingdom Matthew 6:10.... “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (NIV)

  26. B) Kingdom Citizens Pray For His Kingdom To Come Matthew 13:44.... “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” (NIV)

  27. C) Kingdom Citizens Give Everything For His Kingdom Mark 10:23.... “Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, ‘How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!’” (NIV; cf. Luke 18:24 & Matthew 19:23,24) Luke 16:13

  28. 6. Kingdom Citizens Are "CHRIST'S AMBASSADORS"

  29. 2 Corinthians 5:20.... “We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.” (NIV)

  30. As KINGDOM'S CITIZENS we are to be “His Ambassadors” in this world of darkness.

  31. We are CHRIST'S REPRESENTATIVES! We are to be His HAND of …. strength & edification to the Body of believers. love & compassion to the lost in the world.

  32. 7. Kingdom Citizens Are "WARRIORS OF HIS KINGDOM"

  33. 2 Timothy 2:3,4.... “(v.3) Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. (v.4) No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs – he wants to please his commanding officer.” (NIV)

  34. “Good soldier” Greek, kalos means “noble, excellent” As a GOOD SOLDIER of Christ, Timothy would suffer HARDSHIP– which includes persecutions, misunderstanding, and opposition.

  35. Being a soldier demands sacrifice, discipline, obedience, and an uncompromising loyalty. A “Kingdom Citizen” will not allow any thing to keep them away from God.

  36. CONCLUSION John 1:12.... “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (NIV)

  37. Ephesians 2:19.... “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household.” (NIV)
