For example: Orientation: the topic, location, scope The problem under investigation The people or things under investigation The method or methods to be used Intended outcomes of the research

Review of the Literature • Research literature associated with the topic should be covered by focusing on the research problem and the research questions. • The review should not be a sequence of summaries of articles • The review should identify gaps in existing research, inadequacies in existing research and perhaps highlight the importance of your research topic

Research Method • A brief account of the research topic, the type of study that you are proposing and the research design • A description of the targetted population • The sample and sampling method • The research tools (instruments) • The intended procedures (step by step) including a possible pilot study • The expected outcomes (results)
