DESCRIPTION OFCAREER-create a short paragraph describing in general what your career is/does • Dog Training is the process of modifying the behavior of a dog, either for it to undertake particular tasks, or for it to participate effectively in domestic life. Training dogs for specific roles dates back to Roman times while training dogs to be compatible household pets developed in the 1950s.

Do not write a paragraph but instead create a bulleted list • Professional dog trainers may wear many hats: • Seeing a wide variety of clients and dogs in a typical day. • Pre-adoption consultation • Puppy training • Training a dog for a behavior disorder. • Finding the perfect home "fit" for dogs in shelters.

  6. EDUCATION AND TRAINING EDUCATION- High school diploma, or a general educational development (GED) equivalent. The degree for dog trainers is typically a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, but other certifications such as those offered by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, will increase your earnings TRAINING • Trainers must complete 300 hours of training experience • Dog trainers learn the ropes through on-job training and working aside experienced dog trainers • Dog training certification is not mandatory, but many organizations, such as a professional licensing board, offer it • Tuition for the Dog Trainer Program is $3,340 - $4,095
