What is Cybersecurity & Why do we need trained people We are in a digital world (a cyber world) Most computers are connected to the Internet The devices, operating systems are insecure The “Bad Guys” can get access to our devices When they are in control they can get:Our money, our identities, the intellectual property of businesses and control of countries

What makes it easy to run a DL Coursein Cybersecurity? • FOR THE LECTURE • A book that explains difficult topics very well • Good support from the publisher • A good database of questions for quizzes • FOR THE LAB • Good videos to explain concepts • Good videos to show how to do labs • Good simulations to have the students do the work • Good reporting of how the student did in the lab

History of the Development • Started at Innovations Conference in 2006 • Went to Oklahoma to get started in Cybersecurity • Had battle to get approval for AAS & Certificate at WCC • Attended Cybersecurity Conferences • Joined CyberWatch and: • Took CHFI five day course in January • Will take CEF five day course in May
