  3. Classroom Rules & Consequences Rules Consequences • Be Ready • Be Respectful • Be Responsible • Warning • Loss of break • One-on-one conference • Note home to parents to be signed & returned • Call home to parents • Office referral

  4. Daily Activities • Bellwork • Updating assignment sheet • Checking homework • Reteaching, if necessary • Notes for new lesson • Class activity • New homework assignment

  5. Math Notebook • Supplies: 3-ring binder, 5 dividers, paper and pencil • Label dividers: Bellwork, Notes, Homework/Classwork, Quiz/ Test and Vocabulary • Notebook will be checked one to two times during each grading period.

  6. Homework vs. Classwork Homework Classwork • Counts as 20% of your 9-wk grade • Graded on completion • Given two to four times per week • Counts as 30% of your 9-wk grade • Graded on accuracy • Given two to four times per week

  7. Quiz vs. Test Quiz Test • Counts as 20% of your 9-wk grade • 5 to 6 given during the 9-wk grading period • Counts as 30% of your 9-wk grade • 2 to 4 given during the 9-wk grading period • Benchmark test – one given per 9-wk grading period

  8. What’s My Grade? • Here are the steps to determine your child’s grade: • Average each category (HW, CW, Q, T) • Multiply each category by its weighted percent • Add the products • The sum is your child’s grade. • Let’s look at an example.
