OHMS LAW

E. I. R. OHMS LAW. OHMS LAW. Ohms Law states that there is a Direct Relationship to Circuit Voltage and an Inverse Relationship to Circuit Resistance. CURRENT flow depends on Voltage and Resistance. OHMS LAW. CURRENT FLOW is determined by how much RESISTANCE is present in the circuit.

  1. E I R OHMS LAW

  2. OHMS LAW • Ohms Law states that there is a Direct Relationship to Circuit Voltage and an Inverse Relationship to Circuit Resistance. • CURRENT flow depends on Voltage and Resistance.

  3. OHMS LAW • CURRENT FLOW is determined by how much RESISTANCE is present in the circuit. • OHMS LAW simply put states that there is a predictability that allows us to calculate the behavior of Electricity.

  4. OHMS LAW • ASSUMING RESISTANCE IS STABLE: • AS VOLTAGE INCREASES: • CURRENT INCREASES • AS VOLTAGE DECREASES: • CURRENT DECREASES • Successful students will memorize this DIRECT RELATIONSHIP!!!!

  5. OHMS LAW • ASSUMING VOLTAGE IS STABLE: • AS RESISTANCE INCREASES: • CURRENT DECREASES • AS RESISTANCE DECREASES: • CURRENT INCREASES • Successful students will memorize this INVERSE RELATIONSHIP!!!!

  6. OHMS LAW • PERFECTLY CLEAR RIGHT????? • If not, let’s spend a moment in review.

  7. OHMS LAW • VOLTAGE is ELECTROMOTIVE FORCE PRESSURE WITHIN THE CIRCUIT. • AMPERAGE is CURRENT, INTENSITY or FLOW • OHMS is RESISTANCE TO FLOW

  8. E I R OHMS LAW • E= VOLTAGE • I= AMPERAGE • R=RESISTANCE

  9. E I R OHMS LAW • WESTERMEYER’S LAW • K.I.S.S. Principal Rules! • Keep • It • Simple • STUDENT

  10. E I R OHMS LAW • WESTERMEYER’S LAW • Ohms Law is similar to a Homicide Case: • Use that which you do know, to discover that which you don’t know.

  11. E I R OHMS LAW • E=I X R • R=E÷I • I=E÷R

  12. E I R OHMS LAW

  13. E I R OHMS LAW • VOLTAGE UNKNOWN • E=I X R • E= 6A X 2Ω • E= 12Volts

  14. E I R OHMS LAW • RESISTANCE UNKNOWN • R=E÷I • E= 12V÷6A • R= 2Ω

  15. E I R OHMS LAW • AMPERAGE UNKNOWN • I=E÷R • I= 12V ÷ 2Ω • I= 6A

  16. E I R OHMS LAW • LET’S • PRACTICE

  17. P I E WATT’S LAW • P= POWER IN WATTS • I= CURRENT • E= VOLTAGE

  18. P I E WATT’S LAW • SOLVE FOR WATTS THE SAME AS FOR OHMS • COVER THE UNKNOWN AND SOLVE USING THE KNOWN
