Web-based Training (WBT) • Web-based training (sometimes called e-learning) is anywhere, any-time instruction delivered over the Internet or a corporate intranet to browser-equipped learners • two primary models of Web-based instruction: • Synchronous (instructor-facilitated) • Asynchronous (self-directed, self-paced) *

Computer-based Training (CBT) • CBT is the use of computer-aided instruction to teach specific skill • used in business and industry, sports, and education for employee or student training • allows for flexible, on-the-spot training • Training stations can be set up in employees' workstations, so they can update their job skills without leaving the workplace • CAI – Computer-assisted (aided) instruction • CAL – Computer-assisted learning
