  2. 10 Year Plan • Year 5 • Multi-agency and community based effort • PHC is an effective part of the solution. • Access to services is crucial. • It can only work with your involvement!

  3. A look at homelessness in our community Whatcom County made substantial progress in reducing homelessness from 2009 to 2010. But there is still more to do!

  4. Reasons for Homelessness • The economy was the big issue driving homelessness last year. Financial challenges are still relevant, but they were surpassed this year by more traditional factors.

  7. Guest survey responses to the question“What did you like most about the event?” “Respectful and caring atmosphere. Convenience of location, very clear directions of what to do, where to go, and who to talk to.” “Really liked personality and attitude of all volunteers everyone hospitable – wonderful.” “Didn't get turned away, I have been waiting 9 years for help.” “Where did you guys come from? I'm touched, in tears, everything excellent, made my day!”

  9. Photography • This is a public event - implied consent for volunteers. • We do not assume consent of guests. • Only take pictures of yourself and others with explicit consent.

  11. Project Homeless Connect Changes • 3 new locations • Increase in amount of services • Fewer volunteers • No vision screening • No mobile spay/neuter services • Shortening morning rally to less than 5 mins.! • Toward Zero Waste

  12. The PHC Campus • There will be a free shuttle service circulating the campus throughout the day.
