Thanks to all the parents who sent the food and drink items that was asked of them. Also thanks for coming and preparing the little Indian and Pilgrims plates. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break. I can’t believe it is already December. We only have three weeks before Christmas break! Next week, I will begin testing your child for their second report card. Our Christmas party is going to be Friday, December 18th. Put this date on your calendar so you can plan to attend and share the fun! Have a great week. Smiles, Mrs. Simmons ssimmons@vbsd.us Homework Reminders • Please stop by the office and get a visitor’s pass if you come to school to eat, etc. with your child. • There are already coats and jackets in the lost and found. Be sure and write your child’s name in their coat/jacket. The lost and found is located in the hall just outside of the cafeteria and music room. • Don’t forget to bring plastic bags • I do random test each week for the Kindergarten Clubs (ABC, sounds, counting, sight word) Be sure and practice at home. Kindergarten celebrates Patriot Awards on Mondays during Rise and Shine. • Every Thursday please have your child wear their red Parkview shirt! • Working on the items below at home will help to reinforce what is being taught in the classroom. • ▪Read a book at home. Ask your child to retell the story in order. Don’t forget to record it on their reading log. • Practice recognizing upper and lowercase letters out of order. • Have your child draw a picture and write a story about it. Remind them to stretch their words and write all the sounds they hear. Use the ABC chart to help them • Count objects using one to one correspondence. • Practicing counting to 100. Poem of the Week: Christmas Star Twinkle, twinkle Christmas Star, Way up high is where you are. Shining there for all to see, On the tiptop of our tree. Twinkle, twinkle star so bright, Shine up there till morning light. • Dates to Remember • December 1st – Skate Night and Fall retakes • December 3rd – Holiday Shop 1:30-4:30 • December 4th – Holiday Shop 9-2 • December 8th– Zaxby’s night • December 15h-Parkview Players 1:30 & 6:30 • December 18th – end of 2nd quarter and Christmas party • December 21st – Christmas break Begins
