  3. My Road to the FSA • Staffing World Leadership Mtg-Orlando • Engaged in the topic of reaching out • Invited to first FSA Chapter Mtg. • Elected President at first meeting!!

  4. Where was an Earlier Invite? • Never invited to join FSA • 14 years same address, same phones • No effort to recruit after the NTSA folded • Staffing professionals and leaders with nowhere to go?

  5. Motto • I staff, you staff, we all staff! • Why not expand your chapter by reaching out to more staffing professionals regardless of their market segment? • Future chapter growth, revenue and leadership opportunities.

  6. Benefits of an Expanded Chapter • Membership growth • Greater voice for state and local legislative campaigns • New chapter volunteers and potential leaders • Continuing education opportunities for CSPTM and TSCTM • Additional revenue from expanded participation in programs

Real World Example-FSA Tampa Bay • Membership growth in our chapter is up 25% and includes 3 or 4 new technical firms and at least 1 healthcare. • Legislative day representation cut across all sections even though we had less than 10 attendees. • Charitable committee headed by new Eng/Tech member. • TSC members have new CEU earning opportunities. • Mtg revenue growing due to 35%+ growth in chapter meeting attendance.

  8. ASA Sections • Each ASA section is governed by a Policy Council made up of ASA members from that section. • Policy council members assist staff in designing programs and services to meet section needs.

ASA Sections • Technical, IT and Scientific – serving firms placing engineers, scientists, laboratory technicians, architects, draftsmen, technical writers and illustrators, and other individuals with special skills or training in technical fields involving math or science; consultants, analysts, programmers, designers, installers, and other occupations involving computer sciences or communications technology. • Chairman: Claudette Cunitz, TSC, G-Tech Professional Staffing • Represents 61% of ASA membership

ASA Sections • Industrial - serves firms placing workers in manufacturing, wholesale, retail, industrial- and construction-based businesses including warehouse, assembly, transportation, hospitality, and maintenance workers; food handlers; cleaners; drivers; tradespeople; machine operators; and day laborers. • Chairman: Joanna Monroe and Natalie McNair-Huff, Labor Ready • Represents 52% of ASA membership

Making Sections Work for Chapters • Identify the types of services offered by your members • Applications • Invoices • Survey • Identify the niche markets you represent–many members serve one or two sections as well as conduct a generalist staffing business • Seek volunteers interested in representing each sector

How to Get Started • Check with your chapter members • Get your chapter members to reach out to sister branches, other contacts • Peer to peer calling • Form alliance with SHRM, NAPS and former NTSA local chapter members • Remember new programs are great but many of your existing programs will also be of interest
