  1. In some countries it’s normal to get your child a beer instead of a soda at dinner. In those countries it’s just a norm for them to drink young, however in America it is not. Underage drinking is frowned upon and can lead to serious consequences. The drinking age in America is 21 for many reasons; most important is because at that age it is considered a true adult. Sure in high school many people want to start drinking and going to parties, but is it the adult thing to do? When only having few responsibilities, such as a high schooler, it is easy to get mixed up into thinking that it is fun and adventurous to underage drink.  However it is very damaging to developing brains and bodies of young teens. If it starts to get accepting to underage drink than the age will get lower and lower to when we are bottle feeding infants to numb the pain of their teeth coming in.
