  2. The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail all started with the Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark expedition in 1804. The trails are spread over 6000 kilometers starting from Wood River till the Columbia River, Oregon.   3. The Appalachian Trail is a 2190-mile-long trail stretching from Springer Mountain Georgia till Mount Katahdin, Maine.
