Federal Requirements Consultation with environmental agencies on the development of the CLRP, involving: “Comparison of transportation plans with State conservation plans or maps, if available” and with “inventories of natural or historic resources, if available” Discussion of potential mitigation activities and areas to carry out activities 1. 2.

  3. Initial Consultation Process The focus of the 1st year was to Establish contact for long-term engagement Environmental agencies stated: 1. already involved in project level review 2. contacts for future engagement 3. access to GIS data

Environmental Mapping One of the initial products of the consultation effort: 7 maps: Wetlands, Floodplains, Protected Lands, Green Infrastructure, Sensitive Species, Historic Resources, and Impervious Surface Purpose of the mapping component: To show the connection between environmental planning and transportation planning at the regional scale

  5. Environmental Mapping Origins and Extent of Data: Publicly available national data from USFWS, FEMA, and The National Atlas of the U.S. Publicly available state data from MD DNR Publicly available city data from DC DPR Access granted for regional data from NPS Access granted for state data from VDCR-DNH and VDGIF The entire region is covered, except when noted
