Summary • Sodium chloride has many names like salt, common salt, table salt or halite, and is an ionic compound with the formula NaCl, representing equal proportions of sodium and chlorine. • Sucrose is an organic compound usually called table sugar and sometimes called saccharose. Which is a white, odorless, crystalline powder with a sweet taste, and is best known for its place in food.
