  5. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships • Fall Common Application opens around October 1 – prepare NOW • Many scholarship deadlines have happened or will happen soon – check TODAY • Create or update your College Fish profile – don’t DELAY

  7. Other Scholarships • Community College Foundation scholarships • Community Scholarships • State common applications, such as Oregon’s OSAC • Some have a deadline every term/semester, some between October and March

  9. So how do I win a scholarship? • Start preparing now • Perfect essays on common topics • Gather contacts for references • Get involved • Create a product • Get published

  10. What are they looking for? • Leadership • Time commitment – both in hours and continuity • Giving back • Follow through and commitment
