40 Book Challenge Students are expected to read 40 books this year. (Yes, 40.) Why? • Your child will become a reader. He/she will have to figure out what types of books interest them. • Students will be exposed to all the different genres that we encounter in real life … …(and on tests).
40 Book Challenge Students may choose their own books, as long as they meet the following genre requirements are of the appropriate reading level. Fiction- choose 6 of the 10 Realistic Sports Horror/Suspense Fantasy Mystery Supernatural Historical Science Fiction Adventure/Action Chick Lit.
40 Book Challenge Students are expected to read 40 books this year. Students may choose their own books, as long as they meet the genre requirement: Book Notes – a note to the teacher about books finished and in progress (2 required)

“What can I do at home?” Reading • Read a book with your child. • Ask them about what they’re reading now. • Make sure they’re keeping up with their reading requirements.
