  5. DY – Expectations • plagiarism • extremely serious • turnitin.com • time • non-existent • students  tired • teachers  cannot teach

  6. AP & YUELI • Academic Program  very diverse! • Pre-academic, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5B, 5A, 6 • 16 hours core and one 4 hour (2x2hr) seminar/week • Clubs • Dance Club • Homework Club • Soccer Club • Excursions (trips away from school) • plays, Montreal, baseball game, etc.

  11. Toronto!!DOs and DON’Ts • Do • enjoy the freedom of the internet • knowledge is power: keep up to date of news in Canada AND China • get used to Google – it’s our Baidu • scholar.google.com • maps.google.ca • images.google.com • etc. etc. etc. • youtube.com is AMAZING

Toronto!!DOs and DON’Ts • Don’t • be racist, sexist, homophobic, ageist, anti-semetic, anti-muslim, or discriminatory in any way You are entitled to any of your opinions, but the rights of individuals as minorities are superior to your right of freedom of speech. YUELI and York have very strict anti-discrimination policies.

Toronto!!DOs and DON’Ts • Don’t • say Toronto has bad food: YORK UNIVERSITY + TORONTO 2 x China Town Jamaican Greek Town Ethiopian Little Italy Mexican Korea Town Japanese Little India Lebanese Little Portugal Thai etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. oh! and there is a ton of vegetarian and vegan options – delicious and healthy!!
