MADRIGAL SINGERSadvanced Choral Ensemble • Group of 12-16 students chosen by audition. • Open to Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors • Study & Perform music dating from the 15th Century to the present • Students required to be engaged in weekly private voice instruction • Students are eligible for honors status if • Participate in IMEA District Auditions • Participate in either the Northwestern or IHSA solo & ensemble contest • Complete a music performance history project • European Concert Tour • 2014 – Spain • 2012 – Ireland • 2010 – France • 2009 – Italy

TRI-M Music Honor SocietyChapter 1731 • The Tri-M Music Honor Society is an international program dedicated to the recognition of exceptional music students. • Criteria for membership is a member of a school music ensemble that exhibits exceptional scholarship, leadership, service and character. • Tri-M is a program of NAfME, which is the largest arts education association in the world.

Ap art history • Full Year Elective – Jr./Sr. • Preparation for the AP Art History Test – College Credit • This Class Covers the History of Art from the Ancient Near East to the Present • Students Gain an Understanding and Enjoyment of Architecture, Sculpture, Painting and Other Art Forms within Historical and Cultural Context. • This year – iPad Pilot project

THEATRE & ACTINGFOUNDATIONS • One Semester • Open for Sophomores, Junior & Seniors • Introduces students to the elements of theatre • Study of voice, movement and production design. • Read scripts for meaning, understanding and evaluation. • Learn basic approaches to warm-ups, improvisation, monologues and scene work.

History & Theory of Film • One Semester – Jr./Sr. • The goal of this class is to develop visual literacy – sharpening powers of observation, developing skills and habits of perceptive watching and discovering complex elements of film art. • Will cover films from the silent era to contemporary motion pictures.
