  1. Selection Criteria 2014/2015 The selection criteria for the up coming season has been discussed at length by the committee members, in particular what is expected from players to help the club strive towards it’s goal of promotion of the 1st team into division 2 and a stable first season for the 2nd team, as well as improving the overall skill level and ability within the club. Players are expected to display the following: RESPECT - Respect each other and the club, act like professionals, play like professionals! ATTITUDE - The attitude of the Club as a whole is of improvement and success throughout the upcoming seasons, and to achieve this we need the players to reflect that positive hard working attitude each and every game/training session. FORM - Coaches will be comparing the form and output of players within the team, specifically comparing players that share the same position to judge who is playing the best currently. ABILITY - Coaches will be judging each player on their core abilities, and focusing on what they can do and what they also could do for their teams. IMPROVEMENT - Coaches will be looking at your improvement both over the pre-season and the season itself, in all aspects of the game. DISCIPLINE- Both on and off the pitch, Umpires/Club officials & Team mates must be shown the respect that you would like to be shown yourself. Excessive bad conduct and Match game cards will affect your selection chances. FITNESS - Relative to the position that you/the Coaches wish you to play. You must be capable to perform as the position requires. COMMUNICATION - During training/match day team talks, it is important to be quiet and listen to the Captains & Coach, show your respect by allowing them to lead the team. Do not talk over them or hold private conversations. TRAINING ATTENDANCE - Whilst the Club understands home/work life can intervene in hockey availability, the Committee agrees that it is not too much to ask that players attend at least 2 training sessions per month, with an increased attendance to ALL pre-season training sessions. If you cannot make a training session due to unforeseen circumstances, you must inform the captain/coach as soon as you can via telephone.
