    1. Proposition 50 Integrated Regional Water Management Grants Implemented jointly by Department of Water Resources & State Water Resources Control Board

Grant Program Concepts Part of an IRWM Plan or Process Eligible Project Meets at least 1 objective Protect Communities from Drought Protect & Improve Water Quality Reduce Dependence on Imported Water = 1Project element from § 79561 Must meet specific requirements from Bond Law and implementing legislation SWRCB required to fund projects with Approved plan. AB 1747 requires DWR to require approved plan, but that requirement could then be waived. Eligible Project Elements Water Supply Reliability Water Quality, Source Control, Desalination Water Conservation Environmental Restoration & Watershed Management Flood Control The § 79561 project elements can be condensed down to these types of projects.     5. § 79561 Project Elements Programs for water supply reliability, water conservation, and water use efficiency. Storm water capture, storage, treatment, and management. Removal of invasive non-native plants, the creation and enhancement of wetlands, and the acquisition, protection, and restoration of open space and watershed lands. Non-point source pollution reduction, management, and monitoring. Groundwater recharge and management projects. Contaminant and salt removal through reclamation, desalting, and other treatment technologies. Water banking, exchange, reclamation, and improvement of water quality. Planning and implementation of multipurpose flood control programs that protect property; and improve water quality, storm water capture and percolation; and protect or improve wildlife habitat. Watershed management planning and implementation. Demonstration projects to develop new drinking water treatment and distribution methods.
