  1. Tsunami A Wave Of Destruction Made by Martina Camilleri & Meredith Ebejer

  2. What is a Tsunami? A tsunami is a series of waves created when a body of water, such as an ocean is rapidly displaced on a massive scale

  3. A tsunami can be generated when the plate boundaries abruptly deform and vertically displace the overlying water How can a Tsunami be generated ?

  4. Earthquakes, mass movements above or below water, volcanic eruptions, landslides, large meteorite impacts & the testing with nuclear weapons at sea all help to generate tsunamis. With what can a Tsunami be generated?

  5. Tsunamis have been historically referred to as tidal waves because as they approach the land, they take on the characteristics of a violent onrushing tide rather than the sort of cresting waves that are formed by wind action upon the ocean.

  6. A Tsunami has a much smaller amplitude (wave height) offshore, and a very long wavelength, Which is why they generally pass unnoticed at sea, forming only a “hump”.

  7. A Devastating Tsunami Sumatra, 26th December 2006
