  1. Ascent of man?

  3. Ascent of man?

  4. Ascent of man? A likely side branch on man’s family tree, Oreopithecus is be-lived to have stood around four feet tall and weighed about 80 pounds. Its tetth and pelvis led scientists to wonder if it could be ancestral to man, but apparently it became extinct some 8 million years ago.

  5. Ascent of man? The earliest manlike primate found so far, Ramapithecus is now thought by some experts to be the oldest of man’s an-cestors in a direct line. This hominid status is predicated upon a few teeth, some frag-ments of a jaw and a palate unmistakably human in shape.

  6. Ascent of man? Though he stood erect and had hominid features, Paranthropus represents an evolutionary dead end in man’s ancestry. A vegetarian, to judge from his big jaws and grinding teeth, he competed with advanced australopithecines, which may have hastened his extinction.

  7. Ascent of man? Ramapithecus and this early form of Australopithecus, the first certain hominid, are separated by a gap of 9 million years. In this time, the pre-humans made great advance – they walked upright, lived on the ground and may have used stones in their defense. Bigger brain

  8. Ascent of man? The first man of our own genus. Homo erectus is modern of limb but more primitive of hand and brain, with a cranial capacity extending only into the lower range of Homo Sapiens. The sites he frequented show that he led a communal life and knew the use of fire.

  9. Ascent of man? Every few years, this ancestry is replaced by the newest missing link or links, displacing the prior missing links. This indicates presuppositional guessing rather than true science.

  10. Conclusions: • There is no reason to doubt the Biblical narrative in he least on the basis of “scientific thought”. • You have meaning, purpose and infinite value that is based in you relationship to God. • Man still does not possess the answers.
