Engaging in Online Journalism: Class Activities and Social Media Integration
In the Online Journalism course at DePaul University, students will explore various methods to effectively utilize social media for their journalism practice. Key assignments include following and engaging with peers on Twitter (@jourdepaul363) to build a network of 30+ followers, creating blog posts reflecting class discussions, and enhancing their Twitter accounts with daily updates. Students are encouraged to link, embed media, and maintain journalistic integrity in their writing. These exercises aim to strengthen understanding of online journalism and enhance digital engagement.
