  1. Test for Dementia Following are four questions and a bonus question.  In order for the test to be accurate, you have to answer each question instantly.  You cannot take your time.  You must answer immediately.  Okay, go!

  2. Question 1:   You are participating in a race.  You overtake the second person.  What position are you now in?

  3. Answer: If you answered that you are now the first person, then you are stupid.  If you overtake the second person, and you take his place, you are second!

  4. Try not to screw up next time.

  5. Question 2:   Supposing you are participating in the same race.  If you overtake the last person, then you are.....?     

  6. Answer: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again.  Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person?

  7. You're not very good at this, are you?  

  8. Question 3:  (Note:  Very tricky arithmetic!  This must be done in your head only.  Do not use paper, pencil, or calculator.)    Take 1000 and add 40 to it.  Now add another 1000.  Now add 30.  Add another 1000.  Now ad 20.  Now add another 1000.  Now add 10.  What is the total?   

  9. Answer: Did you get 5000? …………..Wrong!  The correct answer is actually 4100.  If you don't believe it, check it with a calculator. 

  10. Today is definitely not your day.  Maybe you'll get the last question right, but I doubt it.

  11. Question 4: Mary's father has five daughters:  Nana, Nene, Nini, Nono, and _________.  What is the name of the fifth daughter?  

  12. Answer: Did you guess Nunu?  NO! Of course it isn't Nuno!  Her name is Mary.  Read the question again!
