Poetry Assignment # 6- Where Poetry HidesThis poem challeneges us to find poetry all around us, every day. Poetry hides in your heart first and foremost because Poetry is based on emotions. Poetry sometimes hides in places where most people wouldn’t think of looking like under your bed, or in a rain puddle on the street, or in your little brother’s smile. Sometimes poetry hides in ordinary places like in a paper clip, in a noisy lunchroom, or even in a dog barking at a bird. Poetry is all around us if we just open our hearts and eyes to the beauty in the people and places around us every day.1. Using your heart map, choose one of things you wrote in your heart, a person or a place will work best.2. Make a list of sensory and concrete details about this topic that make this topic beautiful, poetic, or ordinary. See example(actions, the way it makes you feel, etc.)3. Draft a sloppy copy from this list that begins with, “Poetry hides in…” This poem is a free verse poem so it may rhyme but it does not have to. Your poem does have to be at least 10 lines long.4. Turn your sloppy copy into a neat final copy that includes a title, a neatly written 10 line poem, your name at the bottom, and an illustration of your choice. Due MonDay
