  13. SUNY OER Courses Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits repurposing by others. A SUNY OER course/section provides students a cost effective alternative to traditional textbooks. The majority of materials in this section resides in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits repurposing by others.

  14. Campus Commitment to OER - NYS Funding For fiscal year 2017 – 2018, SUNY was given $4 million by the state of New York to implement Open Educational Resources (OER) in high-enrollment, general education courses. All SUNY campuses are eligible to receive these funds. The criteria for receipt of allocation monies are: Committing to convert a class, or classes, to OER and maintain the use of OER in that course for three years. Developing a sustainability model for OER on your campus. Sharing enrollment and savings data for your OER courses.
