  2. What is the Rapid Response Fund? • Flexible funding mechanism • Funded by the US Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) which is a department of USAID • Managed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM)

  3. Basic terms of RRF • Supports emergency interventions in response to natural and/or man-made disasters • Rolling application process • Short-term: 2 – 3 months • No minimum. Unofficial cap is $500,000 Photo: IOM South Sudan

  4. Who can apply • Applications are welcome from national and international NGOs in South Sudan and Abyei. • Applicants must be registered as an official NGO. • Applicants must demonstrate expertise and past experience in the proposed sector.

  5. Who can apply • Applicants must have connections to the relevant clusters, site management teams, state focal points and lead agencies in the proposed sector and location.

  13. RRF is not designed to support • Government salaries • Sub-sub-partners • Office start-up costs • Education • Livelihoods, food security • Peace-building • Food • HIV/AIDS programming • Development programming • Construction activities

  14. How to apply • Contact IOM at rrfsouthsudan@iom.intto inquire about RRF availability, and request the application templates and guidelines. • Visit the IOM South Sudan website at http://southsudan.iom.int/rrf/to download the templates and guidelines.

  15. How to apply • Follow the Guidelines to develop the four documents which must be submitted: • Annex I – Application Form • Annex III – Proposal and Reporting • Annex V – Workplan • Annex VI – Budget **ALL APPLICATIONS must be sent to rrfsouthsudan@iom.int

  16. Requirements for a strong proposal • Activities are based upon documented, acute, immediate needs. • Objectives, outcomes, and number of beneficiaries are clear. • Outcomes are measurable. • Budget lines match the activities. • Coordination with other actors is clearly described.

  17. Requirements for a strong proposal • Activities are possible in the proposed area. • Risks and assumptions are described. • Materials sourced through the common pipelines are described as in-kind. • ** It does not have to be perfect English **
