  1. Sketching the Bearing Block Study the object you are about to sketch. Identify the top, front, and side views.

  2. Begin by proportionally laying out the outside dimensions of the top front and side views of the object. Project up and across, make sure that your views align.

  3. Next, layout the location of major features of the part that you are drawing.

  4. Keep features proportionally correct. Use major features of the object to locate the positions of minor features.

  5. Locate and sketch the circular parts of the object. Identify the position of the circles and their hidden lines.

  6. Add the center lines. Darken object lines. There is no need to erase developmental lines.
