  1. Top-Front-Side View Tutorial View the following tutorial and complete the follow-up questions at the end. Hand these in to your teacher.

  2. Basics of 3D Shapes • All 3-dimensional space shapes are made up of 2-dimensional plane shapes • You can break 3-dimensional shapes down into three different 2-dimensional views: top, front, and side

  3. Let’s look at an example… Draw the top, front and right side views to the three dimensional shape. We’ll start off by looking only at the top view. Let’s shade (blue) in the squares that serve as the top of the shape. Front When you draw the top view, the bottom of your drawing should serve as the front of the shape. Top View Front

  4. Let’s look at an example… Draw the top, front and right side views to the three dimensional shape. Now let’s take a look at the front view. Let’s shade (green) in the squares that serve as the front of the shape. Front Front View Front

  5. Let’s look at an example… Draw the top, front and right side views to the three dimensional shape. Next, let’s look at the right side view. Let’s shade (red) in the squares that serve as the right side of the shape. Front Right Side View Front

  6. Let’s look at an example… Draw the top, front and right side views to the three dimensional shape. Here are all three views for this space shape. Front Front View Right Side View Top View Front

  7. Another Example… Draw the top, front and right side views to the three dimensional shape. Most of the time you will not have colored pencils to help you determine what the top, front, and right will look like. Instead, we can label each by using the letters T for top, F for front, and R for right side. Take a second and do this. Front Front View Right Side View Top View T R F T F R T T R F F R F Front

  8. Follow-Up Questions Answer the following questions on loose leaf and hand them in to your teacher.

  9. Follow Up-Questions Draw the top-front and right side views for each figure below. 1. 3. 2. 4.
