  1. Assembly Awards • Honors with Distinction – 90% Avg. with no mark in any subject below 80% • Honors – 80% Avg. with no mark in any subject below 70% • Significant Improvement Terms 2-3 only Avg. increases by 5% or more from term to term.

  2. Teacher Nominated Assembly Awards: • Citizenship-The Citizenship Award is one of the highest honours a Nickle Student can be awarded. These are students that regularly get involved in their classes, clubs, events and activities around the school. These students will possess the character to do what is right, act morally with wisdom, and balance individual concerns with the rights and needs of others. (Taken from CBE Ends Statement) • Academic Success • Participation in co-curricular program • Received recognition through leadership and/or Service • 2 or more teachers endorse a students nomination.

  3. Teacher Nominated Assembly Awards • Service -Students have provided some kind of service, task, assistance, or help to the school. This student demonstrates initiative in helping others in a significant way.

  4. Teacher Nominated Assembly Awards. • Leadership- Students use their influence to guide and lead positively through action and example. They show others the way. They are a role model.

  5. Teacher Nominated Class Awards: • Awarded in classes • Top Student-Top mark in each class • Top Effort-2 students recognized for significant effort shown in class during the term.

  6. Other Assembly Awards: • Team/Club Awards. • Co-curricular Awards presented each term. • Athletic Certificates • Fine Arts Certificates • Student Recognition i.e.. Certificates of achievement from outside of school • Duke of Edinborough Awards (more info to come on this)

  7. Other Info: • -Students are nominated by teaching staff and information is gathered by school awards committee members. • -Assembly Awards are presented in School Awards Assemblies. • -Each grade will have their assembly during their regular scheduled PE time. • -Class awards are presented in classes by each class teacher.

  8. Award Dates: Term 1 – Thursday December 3 Term 2 – Thursday April 15 (Tentative) Final Awards – Tues. June 29 (Tentative) Each grade grouping is responsible for the preparation and delivery of Term awards and award assemblies, including the recognition of student work and demonstrations through coordination of awards committee members.
