Kinship Support Network Navigator Program (KSNNP) Overview • Kinship Support Network Navigator Program (KSNNP) is a three-year demonstration project specifically designed to provide information and resources to kinship caregivers across the state of California. • Research- This program also encompasses a research study that will evaluate the needs and strengths of kinship caregivers. • Partnerships- Edgewood Center for Children and Families in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties have successfully established partnerships with EMQ Families First in Contra Costa County and Family Support Services of the Bay Area in Alameda County.

  3. Navigators • The Navigators are all current or previous caregivers with a world of knowledge and experience. • The Navigators provide referral and information services to callers of the warm line. • Navigators are available 10 hours a day, Monday through Friday from 9am until 7pm. • There are two bilingual Spanish speaking Navigators. • Each program partner (EMQ, FSSBA, Edgewood) has a kinship Navigator on site.

OUTREACH • KSSNP has conducted a statewide outreach via letters and flyers, and phone calls to inform kinship families, community members, and public and private health and human services agencies about kinship care, the 1 800 KIN 0047 contact number, and the Kinship Internet site: http://www.cakinship.org • Specific counties have been targeted as having a high percentage of children that are in the care of grandparents. Of the top 10 counties in California, 3 come from Southern California: Tulare, Santa Barbara, Imperial.
