No content is contained in the Viewer. The presentation is governed by timing data imported from external xml files, which is translated into cuepoints tied to the voiceover track. This modular approach enables interchangeability and customization for age and language groups as well as independent editing and revision of text and media. It also means that the viewer is a standard version, and content developers don’t have deal with its code. The main drawbacks are that it has to be distributed as a collection of files rather than a stand alone movie file, and that content developers have to work with timing data in XML instead of the more intuitive timeline based approach.
