  1. Don’t Throw Your Old Copper Away! Copper is a non ferrous metal that has been in circulation for several centuries. It’s a desirable non ferrous metal because it has excellent thermal and electrical conductivity properties meaning that this metal is useful for such common things as the pins found on standard household plugs. Copper used to be used extensively for cooking when made into a cooking pot because of its high corrosion resistance and its ability to withstand high temperatures. Other metal such as stainless steel have taken over as the favored material for cooking pots, but copper is still used today to line the bottom of kettles and saucepans. Because copper is in short supply globally it is inevitable cheaper alternatives such as stainless steel and aluminum compete favorably in terms of cost for products used in the home. Because of copper’s resilience to extreme temperatures it is favored as a material for recycling and companies such as Euclid Ohio non ferrous metal recyclers offer good prices for copper that is no longer required. It can be used to form new products over and over again. Copper does have many uses, including Electrical wiring Aerial cabling Refrigeration pipes Undersides of saucepans The main component of alloys such as brass and bronze      Copper wiring has been used to transfer electricity from place to place since electricity was first discovered. This is because copper has little resistance to the flow of electricity. Only silver is a better conductor, but copper is generally much more widely used because it is cheaper. It is also used in aerial cable to transfer radio waves and television signals. Refrigeration takes place through the use of a compressor which transfers heat using copper piping with what is called a refrigerant in it. Copper can also withstand freezing temperatures within fridges. One of the important characteristics of a saucepan is its ability to be subjected to extreme temperatures generated by gas and electricity when a substance is heated to boiling point for consumption. Copper sheet is often used to line the underside of a saucepan as this gives it the capability to withstand the heating process. If you have a pot that you no longer require, don’t throw it out but get paid to take it to Euclid Ohio copper recycling; you won’t be disappointed when you leave with several dollars in your pocket.

  2. It might be a surprise to you that copper can be molded into different shapes easily and artists specialize in making ornaments that decorate people’s homes mimicking different shapes and sizes. Even solid copper cooking pots of yesteryear are sometimes favored by collectors as a means of storing wealth. These uses of copper means there is no excuse not to recycle your unwanted copper and Euclid ohio copper recycling offers good prices for all copper products. Other non ferrous metals that can be taken to metal recycling are brass, gold, silver, aluminum, lead, zinc and nickel. Good prices are offered when these non ferrous metals are recycled.
