Enhancing Student Progress: The Role of Progress Files in Higher Education

Progress Files are essential tools for students at the University of Northumbria, designed to foster reflection on achievements and facilitate planning for future learning and development. They promote accountability, transparency, and explicit learning goals within higher education. Progress Files empower students to relate their educational experiences to wider life contexts, enabling them to articulate their goals and evaluate their own progress. Through structured guidance, students acquire transferable skills and develop critical evaluation and planning competencies, ultimately preparing them for success in their careers and personal development.
