PVAAS Update
This update outlines the anticipated new features for PVAAS reporting in Fall 2008, including enhanced methodologies in grade 11 reporting for reading, mathematics, science, and writing. Highlighted are user accounts availability, survey results, and the status of the USDOE proposal. Professional development opportunities will be released by August 20, 2008. New reporting features such as projections to the next assessment, value-added reporting, and detailed performance level changes will enhance the understanding of student growth and guide district strategies.

USDOE Proposal Status • PA submitted proposal in Feb • PA responded to USDOE questions in March • PA proposal forward for peer review • Peer review April 24-25 • Peer review questions to states in April • States notified of decision in May • PA planning as if proposal will be approved • PDE, SAS, Inc. and DRC meeting
Fall Professional Development • To be able to go and ask any Pennsylvania principal how they are using PVAAS in their school and they can tell me how they are using it
