2. My two practitioners are Robert Mapplethorpe and Vivienne Westwood. I think Robert Mapplethorpe has a very interesting life story and I really like how his photos are very different. I also like how his personality shows up in his work. I chose Vivienne Westwood as my second practitioner because she is my favorite fashion designer, and I have always loved her clothes, so I wanted to know more about her by researching into how she first started off in the 1980’s with a shop called “SEX”. I learnt that she made clothes for the famous punk band ‘The Sex Pistol’s and that she was an influence to many other people and she still is because of her different style. They have several similarities in style and genre, which are how they both in different ways showed the new punk ways of the 1980’s (Vivienne in her clothes and Robert in his photos) Also they both showed a whole new concept of women, as before the punk style came out, all women used to wear skirts and pretty dresses. However, both of my practitioners showed that women in ripped, baggy and man style clothes.

3. They both influenced each other by both bringing the new Punk style to London, which both of their works show. Also they were both very famous people and must of had connections. Both of their work have influenced many different things in the modern day, these include the skateboards which have a grunge, distressed kind of style which came out in both of their works, also magazines have distressed fonts sometimes and very punk type designs. Also the grunge style came from punks. Grunge is very messy, not caring kind of look, very much like Punk. Another thing that was influenced by Vivienne and Robert would be punks of the modern day! As if these artists weren't around, then who knows if Punk and Grunge would be about today! Also sometimes Punk comes up in interior design and clothes nowadays.
