SAP • Employees, Business Events, and Enrollments are created in SAP • Data files are created that contain records for all Business Events • Data Integration Files: • USR contains active employee records • CRS contains active business events (course sections) • ENR contains active enrollments for valid business events (course sections)

  3. Issues With CurrentSAP Process • Data integration files do not include enrollment of Externals • Data integration files do not include Instructor assignments • The event has no instructor assigned • The online program has no access without system administrator intervention

  4. TERMS • Students, Courses, Enrollments, and Instructor Assignments are created in TERMS • Data files are created that contain records for all courses in specific schools • Data Integration Files: • USR contains active student records • CRS contains active course sections • ENR contains active student enrollments • FAC contains active faculty assignments

  5. Issues With CurrentTERMS Process • Data integration job is lengthy (most times it takes 12-23 hours to complete) • Most of the courses created are not used • Most Instructors are not Blackboard-trained • Blackboard licenses and training offerings are limited • Support is limited by the number of licenses

  6. Issues Common InEither Process • All courses are created without content. Course Designer must use the Bb Copy Into function to bring over content from template course. • Left Navigation bar is expanded • More than one of each item is displayed on the course menu (for example, two “Course Information” buttons) where one holds the content and the other is empty • Some content (such as movies) are not copied or are incomplete

Resolution = Changes to Source Data • Creation of BE in SAP must include Bb Template Course ID in the Abbreviated Name field • Creation of BE in SAP must include Instructor, Program Organizer or Registration Administrator in the Organizer Data field • Course Record in TERMS must include Bb Template Course ID in the Template ID field • Designee in Core Curriculum responsible for updating this field • Data Integration files only create course records in Blackboard where these fields are not blank
