  17. Someone famous from India Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2nd 1896. He was the one who brought independence to India. He believed in nonviolence. He died on January 30, 1948. A man named Nathuram Godse killed him. He wanted India to be independent. He went to jail many times but didn’t give up. In fact, he didn’t even give up nonviolence. He made people burn their English clothes.

  19. A famous placein India The Taj Mahal started being constructed in 1631 and ended in 1648. It was built for Shah Jahan, the wealthiest of the Mughal rulers. His wife was buried in it. Today, Shah Jahan is buried there too. It is mainly built of white marbles and stands on a raised platform. There is a rectangular pool in the front of it. There is a garden alongside the pool. It was built for Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz Mahal and it is a symbol of a husband’s love for his wife.

  24. My Trip to India My best part was the meditation center in Vashi where we stayed. There, my best part was having the holy water. In the plane going from Paris to India, I lost my first tooth.

  34. 5 memorableThings About India • Because to me the Taj Mahal is the most beautiful thing in the world and I hope I can go there to see it. • I enjoyed the coconut water and the “malai’’. • The Elephanta Caves is the best of caves because unlike other caves, it has the three-headed Lord Shiva as well as hisstory. • I liked “Chowpati” because I liked the “Paw Bhaji’’. I also had a ride on the Ferris Wheel and a merry go round. They were both hand-pushed. • The Mumbadevi temple was my favorite temple because my wish came true.
