  1. Contaminated Soil • Intestinal worms leave eggs in the stool of the host. • When an infected animal leaves its stool the eggs can contaminate the soil. • If your dog tends to eat things present in the yard, it can get infected.

  2. Contaminated Water • Don’t let your dog drink the pond water. • It contains organisms that causes diarrhea and vomiting.

  3. Predation • Dogs can become infected if they consume the wild animals. • They can be infected by roundworms, whipworms, and tapeworms.

  4. Fleas • Fleas can become a source of transmission. • If your dog is grooming itself, it can accidentally ingest fleas.

  5. Through their Mother • Intestinal worms can be passed via the mother’s milk to the puppy. • Roundworms and hookworms can be transmitted like this.
