Good News…… • The new Bishop of Blackburn will be The Venerable Julian Henderson, currently Archdeacon of Dorking, in the Diocese of Guildford. • The Archdeacon’s name was sent to the Prime Minister, David Cameron at the end of January • Then Her Majesty The Queen, in her role as Head of State and Supreme Governor of the Church of England, gave the decision her final approval and ratification.

  3. The Venerable Julian Henderson said.. “To find that I am the person invited to become the next Bishop of Blackburn is extremely humbling. It is an honour to be entrusted with such an important and significant responsibility. Heather and I come to the diocese in response to a call from God through His church to serve both His people and the whole wider community in Lancashire. And we do so joyfully with a real sense of expectation and excitement.”

  4. What happens next…… • Archdeacon Julian is not yet a Bishop • He will be ordained as a Bishop by the Archbishop of York and other Bishops at York Minster • We need to pray for Archdeacon Julian and Heather and their family

  5. Prayer and reflection Heavenly Father We give you thanks for choosing Julian as our new Bishop . We ask that you continue to strengthen and support him as he prepares for his work with us. Please give our bishop, holiness of life and wisdom, to direct and guide our diocesan family, so that we may grow in your love. Keep him and his familyclose to you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
