  1. Beta Club MeetingOctober 5, 2010 Please have a seat. Pass your attendance pages to the back of your table. Leigh Anne T will be signing your attendance during the meeting. Be sure that your name is on the page. Our meeting should last until 3:50 pm. You will NOT be late to your practices as long as you allow us to begin on time.

  2. Communication • WRITE DOWN THE BLOG ADDRESS. Visit it often as new community service projects are available regularly. blogs.harrisonhigh.org/beta_club • JOIN OUR FACEBOOK GROUP. Search for HHS Beta Club. Megan Russo is the administrator. She’s posted a link to the blog, minutes for meetings, and community service project information. • GIVE US YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. Officers passed out slips of paper as you came in. Please complete the forms and put them in the box on the way out. Please write the address clearly!

  3. Annual Dues • All members owe $5 in annual dues. • Bring your dues to Mrs. Tarvin (418) or Mrs. Dau (120) after the meeting, OR take them to Mrs Dau (120) before or after school tomorrow.

  4. Service Opportunities • KRISPY KREME DONUT SALES: Meet at 7:40 am outside of Admin II. • Earn 1/2 hour of credit. • Seeking as many funny, loud kids as possible! • Next dates: Wed, Oct. 13 & Wed, Oct. 27 • Sign-up outside Mrs. Dau (120) or Mrs. Tarvin (418) room

  5. Service Opportunities • Bucket Brigade: Members will collect money at football game. • Earn 1 hour of credit per game. • Emily Babione will meet volunteers at the ticket booth at 7:15 pm. You’ll be free after half-time.

  6. Service Opportunities • Shane’s BBQ Dinner Fundraiser: Members will help to publicize a specific night that Shane’s will donate 15% of all profits to Relay for Life. • Monday, October 11 • We’ll need help making signs. You’ll earn service hours for carrying signs and making signs. • Check the blog and facebook for opportunities!

  7. Fall Festival Service Opportunities • Frey Fall Festival - THIS FRIDAY! • Many students have volunteered, and the PTSA president has all of your names. Meet in the Frey school lobby at 5:30 pm, and help run festival activities from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. • Vaughan Fall Festival - THIS FRIDAY! • We were contacted during the break, so we don’t have many volunteers. Sign up after the meeting TODAY. Meet at Vaughan, and you can work either from 5 pm to 6:30 pm, 6:30 pm to 8 pm, or 5 pm to 8 pm.

  8. Cancer Fun Run/Walk Service Opportunity • Kickin’ Kids Cancer Fun Run/Walk - THIS SATURDAY at Brookstone Country Club • Meet at the Brookstone Country Club at 6:15 am. See Kathleen Stotler. • The race begins at 7:30 am, so you should be done by 10 am. • We currently have 2 volunteers! Please see Mrs. Tarvin after the meeting if you would like to help.

  9. Hayes Elementary School Help • Hayes International Day – November 6 from 11 am - 5 pm. • You can work the whole festival or a portion. The International Day is a festival that represents the diversity of their school. Many countries are represented with tons of food, crafts, and shows. Volunteers will help cook, serve food, help with crafts and clean up. • Sign up outside Mrs. Tarvin or Mrs. Dau’s room.

  10. Hayes Elementary School • “Holiday Breakfast” – December 11th from 7:30 am to noon. Costumes may be involved…elf costumes! More information to come at the next meeting.

  11. Relay for Life Team • Megan will post a link on Facebook for you to follow to officially join Harrison’s Relay for Life team. OPTIONAL! • When you join, the site will ask for $5 or $10. The donation will be credited to Harrison’s team goal. • If you join, then you’ll receive the official Cobb County Relay for Life shirt in May.

  12. Summary: • Pick up your attendance sheet from the back of your table as you leave. • Put your email address slip in the box as you leave. • Pay dues by tomorrow. • Join Facebook group. • Check the blog OFTEN. • Sign up for Vaughan Fall Festival or Kickin’ Kids Cancer on your way out! • Sign up for donut sales, Shane’s signs, and Bucket Brigade outside Mrs. Dau and Mrs. Tarvin’s rooms.
