  1. Beta Club MeetingApril 12, 2011

    Please have a seat at a table. Take down the chairs so that others can see. You can leave them down when you leave. Pass your attendance pages to the back of your table. Leigh Anne T will be signing your attendance during the meeting. Be sure that your name is on the page.
  2. Old Business ANNUAL $5 DUESWERE DUE ON OCTOBER 6. You received a note in advisement if you have not paid. Seniors will not be able to order stoles for graduation until your dues are paid. SEE MRS. TARVIN AFTER THE MEETING TO PAY OR COME BY HER ROOM 418.

  4. ATTENDANCE SHEETS IF YOU FORGOT YOUR ATTENDANCE SHEET, SEE LEIGH ANNE TUCK AFTER THE MEETING TO SIGN IN. YOU’LL HAVE TO BRING YOUR SHEET TO MRS. TARVIN’S ROOM TO GET OFFICIAL ATTENDANCE CREDIT.
  5. SENIOR STOLES $15 TO MRS. TARVIN BY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stoles have to be ordered from the National Beta Club and shipped by graduation. I HAVE TO PLACE THE ORDER ON MONDAY to avoid increased shipping fees.

Community Service Opportunity Saturday, April 23rd from 2-4 pm – BURNT HICKORY BAPTIST “EASTERRIFIC” They will be assigned duties like helping out with egg hunts, craft tables, food tables, water or lemonade tables, etc. Sign up after the meeting with Ashlyn or outside Mrs. Tarvin or Mrs. Dau’s rooms.
  7. Community Service Opportunity FORD ELEMENTARY SPRING FLING Saturday, April 16 4 pm to 8 pm 2 pm to 4 pm set up 4 pm to 6 pm 6 pm to 8 pm 8 pm to 9 pm clean up SIGN UP TODAY WITH ASHLYN CATES!
  8. Community Service Opportunity COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY! THIS SATURDAY! REPORT TO THE BUSPORT AT 8 AM YOU’LL RECEIVE 4 HOURS OF BETA CLUB SERVICE FOR ATTENDING! MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE PERMISSION SLIP. YOU CAN GIVE IT TO MRS. TARVIN, MRS. DAU, OR ANY OTHER CLUB SPONSOR. NO SPECIFIC VENUE…JUST CHOOSE SOMETHING YOU’LL ENJOY!
  9. Community Service Opportunity TEACHER APPRECIATION BASKETS – We’d like to provide snacks for teachers in their departmental workrooms next Friday morning. (1 HOUR PER ITEM) BRING BAKED GOODS OR SNACKS TO MRS. TARVIN’S ROOM BY NEXT THURSDAY AFTERNOON. (1 HOUR PER BASKET) WE’LL NEED ONLY 9. (1 HOUR) MEET IN RM 418 NEXT THURSDAY TO STUFF THE BASKETS. SIGN UP TODAY WITH KAYLA BROOKS OR OUTSIDE MRS. TARVIN AND MRS. DAU’S DOORS.

Relay for Life Walking Shifts Friday, May 6, 2011 7 pm to 7 am PERMISSION SLIPS – Pick up after the meeting with Jamie and Hannah Return to Mrs. Tarvin by Tuesday, May 3 Two forms: Staying OVERNIGHT Staying for only a few hours See Hannah Lyons and Jamie Newton after the meeting in the OfficialRelay for Life Information Booth!
  11. Parking, etc. Cobb County Police will be directing traffic around the event. There are several parking lots, but be prepared to walk if you don’t come early. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:00 pm, and the Survivors walk the first lap at 7:30 pm. Expect heavy traffic at this time. Luminary Ceremony is at 10:00 pm, and MOST people are there for this event. Traffic will be heavy right before and after. Mrs. Tarvin will distribute maps to our tent location when it is assigned. I’ll know the location the week of the walk.

  13. Relay for Life Supplies to Bring THINK CAMPING… CAMPING CHAIRS SLEEPING BAG OR BLANKET PILLOW SWEATS AND JACKETS TOILET PAPER (YEP.) MONEY FOR FOOD AND DRINK SNACKS TO SHARE RAIN JACKET IPOD OR RADIO TO TUNE INTO MUSIC
  14. Relay for Life Tent Decorations Every team is assigned a large tent at the relay. Team members can bring camping chairs, snacks, games, etc. and hang out under their tents. Every team chooses a theme and decorates the tent to match the theme. If you have military/camouflage gear, we’d love to borrow it to prepare our tent. TENT DECORATING LEADERS/OFFICERS/OTHERS INTERESTED– Let’s have a short meeting on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 pm to get a plan together! Room 418…
  15. Relay for Life Service Opportunity KRISPY KREME DONUT SALES: Meet at 7:45 am outside of Admin II. Earn 1/2 hour of credit. Seeking as many funny, loud kids as possible! APRIL 20 AND MAY 4 Sign-up outside Mrs. Dau (120) or Mrs. Tarvin (418) room Or, see Brooke W after the meeting

Relay For Life Service Opportunity LUMINARIA White bags with candles to honor cancer survivors or victims Candles are lit after dark at the Relay to remember the struggles of the honorees $10 to purchase a Luminaria to remember someone Team will write names on the bags and set them up on Relay night. Take a couple of Luminaria sales sheets if you’d like to earn service hours for sales. (1 Luminaria = 1 service hour; Limit 6 hours) PICK UP FROM JAIME AND HANNAH! Bring completed sheets and checks made out to Harrison High School to Mrs. Tarvin by May 1!
  17. Relay for Life Service Opportunity SET UP TEAM – The site opens at noon, and Mrs. Tarvin will arrive around 3:00 pm to begin set up of our campground. NEEDED: 5 strong men to unload tables and put up our tents 5 students to decorate according to our theme SEE MRS. DAU after the meeting today to volunteer! Earn up to 4 hours of Relay Service!
  18. Relay for Life Service Opportunity TAKE DOWN TEAM- The relay ends at 7 am, and we’ll clean up to leave from 7 am to 8 am. NEEDED: 5 strong men to load tables and take down the tent\ 5 students to pick up our own trash and take down decorations Earn TWO HOURS OF CREDIT for ONE HOUR OF SERVICE! SIGN UP WITH MRS. DAU AFTER THE MEETING!

Relay for Life Service Opportunity REGISTRATION OF TEAM MEMBERS – In order to get a campsite big enough for our HUGE club, I have to enter all of your names into the Relay for Life website to register you as an official member of our team. EVERYONE - COMPLETE THE QUESTIONNAIRE AND RETURN TO BOX BEFORE LEAVING TODAY!!!!! NEEDED: 5-10 students who are willing to help with data entry next Thursday afternoon in room 418 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm Earn an hour of Relay for Life credit SIGN UP WITH MRS. DAU AFTER THE MEETING!
