IMPORTANT POINTS • Cache Creek & Settling Basin levees are not certifiable for 100- or even 10-year protection • Adverse flood impacts of Settling Basin were not properly evaluated • Woodland and adjacent areas need resolution to flood risks • Two miles of I-5 are subject to sustained deep flooding
CLOSING REMARKS • The Community is eager to participate with the CVFPB, DWR, and USACE to implement a flood risk reduction project • The Community has had communications with DWR regarding a partnership to conduct a Feasibility Investigation • The Lower Cache Creek Feasibility Investigation is an Federally authorized project • The Community is reviewing the USACE’s draft PMP for continuing the Cache Creek Feasibility Investigation • The Community views a Cache Creek flood risk reduction project as a viable “no regrets” project for early implementation
