This presentation discusses the current status of the Staff Union Committee's baseline matching/grading assessment and outlines the next steps to be taken. Status Summary • Agreement signed on 14 March 2001 (+ Annex 1 signed on 9 May 2001) • STAGE 1: Most match/grade letters sent by the extended deadline (31 May 2001) • 186 officials upgraded, 168 requested a review, ?? process ongoing, for all others status quo • Data on successful reviews unavailable now

  9. Requests for Review • 168 Requests • 105 Females appealed, 63 males • Results unknown as yet • Estimated that most unsuccessful

  10. Appeals • The Independent Review Group (IRG) selected • Training of IRG members starts this month • HRD estimates some 30-40 appeals

  11. Schedule • Deadline to launch apeals: 15 August 2001 • Deadline to receive replies from IRG:1 October 2001 / (31 Oct. 2001) • For field, generics available • Process timetable: September, October, November 2001

  12. What next? • The new collective agreement on Grading negotiated, and should be signed soon • IRG will be constituted for all future appeals, in HQ and in field
