  2. MMC MMCมาจากคำว่า Multimedia Card เป็น Flash Memory อีกชนิดหนึ่งที่มีขนาดและรูปร่างคล้ายกับ SD Card มากที่สุดนั่นก็คือ กว้าง 24 มม. ยาว 32 มม. แต่ความหนาของ MMCนั้นจะน้อยกว่า SD Card เล็กน้อย

  3. MMC วัตถุประสงค์ของการผลิต MMC Card นี้ก็เพื่อสนองตอบความต้องการในการใช้MMC Card นี้ในเครื่องใช้ในระบบดิจิตอล เช่น กล้องถ่ายรูปแบบดิจิตอล, โทรศัพท์มือถือ, เครื่องเล่น MP3และ เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์พกพาขนาดฝ่ามือ PDAเป็นต้น

MMC MMCจะมีความเร็วในการรับส่งข้อมูลสูงสุดอยู่ที่ 2.5MBต่อวินาที ในขณะที่ SD Card จะมีความเร็วอยู่ที่ 10 MBต่อวินาที หรือเร็วกว่าเป็น 4 เท่า แต่ทั้งนี้ทั้งนั้นความเร็วจริงในการทำงานจะขึ้นอยู่กับอุปกรณ์ที่จะนำมาใช้ ร่วมกันด้วย อย่างไรก็ดี อุปกรณ์ที่ใช้ SD Card ได้ส่วนใหญ่จะใช้ MMCได้ด้วย แต่อุปกรณ์บางชนิดที่ถูกออกแบบมาให้ทำงานกับMMCจะไม่สามารถใช้งาน SD Card ได้
