  7. Conflict in Teams • Conflict can either be productive or dysfunctional • The cost of unmanaged conflict can be high, but the gains from using differences creatively can also be great • Every team will have conflicts • Conflict is not necessarily a bad thing

Conflict Management Four C’s in Conflict Management • Connect- establish understanding, address things openly • Clarify- seek to understand by active listening and generate alternatives • Confirm-reach mutual agreements as to what each person wants and needs and establish willingness to collaborate • Contract- negotiate agreements for future interations
