  2. Peter’s Burden Jn 21:18-19 • Knew his death would be violent. • In writing his second letter he knew it was drawing near. II Pet 1:14 • What was his great concern? • Leave his brethren remembering what was very important. II Pet 1:12-15

  3. Wherefore I shall be ready always to put you in remembrance of these things, though you know them, and are established in the truth which is with (you). 13 And I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 14 knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ signified unto me. 15 Yea, I will give diligence that at every time ye may be able after my decease to call these things to remembrance.2 Pet 1:12-15

  8. 1:3-4 • God’s Divine Power granted all things that pertain to life and godliness. 1:3 • Helpless and without strength Rom 5:6-10 • Dead in our trespasses and sins. Eph 2:1-10 • without hope. Eph 2:11-12 • God so loved he gave his only son. Jn 3:16 • Through this divine power also was granted his precious and exceeding great promises 1:4 • salvation Titus 2:1-14; Resurrection I Cor 15 • children of God 1 Jn 3:1-3; Living Hope 1Pet 1:3-5 • All spiritual blessings Eph 1:3 Forgiveness; • Grace, Mercy, Compassion, Love, Salvation.

  9. 1:5 • Through these… • God’s Divine Power • Precious and exceeding great promises • partakers (fellowship) of divine nature. • escaped the corruption in world through lust • Have all this by grace; mercy; God’s Power • For this very cause – • Add on your part…(bring in on the side). • Seek to make it ours in truth by our effort!

  11. If these things are yours & abound • not idle nor unfruitful • Make your calling and election sure. • If you do these things you will never stumble. • Thus shall be richly supplied to you the entrance into the eternal kingdom.

  12. He that Lacks These Things • is blind • seeing only what is near • having forgotten the cleansing from old sins • Loss of all promised Blessings: • Idle, fruitless. • calling & election unstable. • stumbling. • No entrance into eternal kingdom.

  13.
